Soorya is a leading stage and film society, functioning with its headquarters in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, the southern most state of India. Soorya has chapters in 36 countries (in Europe, Gulf and Far East), 50 centres in 5 metros of India and 12 districts of Kerala. The society is heading towards 40th year of its useful existence, catering to the needs of serious art enthusiasts, all over the globe. Soorya is a non-profit making, non-commercial, voluntary organization with no office building or paid staff, anywhere in the world.
This year, Soorya India Festival in Collaboration with Indian Cultural Centre will showcase a cross-section of India’s rich cultural heritage in a spectacular celebration of Indian Classical Dance featuring, Indian artists Dr. Janaki Rangarajan a Bharanatyam exponent and Pandit Rajendra Gangani a Kathak exponent along with Malaysian artists Mr Mohammad Khairi and Xin Ying performing Bharathanatyam from Aswara Arts Academy .
The proceeds will be donated towards ‘Cansurvive Centre Malaysia Berhad, a non-profit Organisation that provides guidance and compassionate community support for cancer patients and their family .
